Mr Denis Boulais president & CEO of Delhi Solac said that "The decision to establish ourselves in the United States was part of our long term strategy and development plan. The choice to purchase this plant in North Carolina was a very strategic one, as a good part of our present and future clientele is situated in the southern part of the United States. This new plant has ample space to expand and add additional manufacturing capacity to double our volume."

Solaris specializes in leading edge mechanical and coated steel plant tubing. Solaris Industries' parent company, Delhi Solac Inc, is Canada's leading manufacturer in the steel tubing industry.

Mr Kristin Fletcher VP of economic development for CCEDP said that "We have been working to recruit this viable company since May of 2009 and are so fortunate that they decided to establish their first United States subsidiary in Cleveland County. Aside from our available work force and close proximity to Charlotte, one of the other major draws for Solaris was that the facility in Kings Mountain contained the extremely large, specialized machinery and equipment that they would need to manufacture the steel tubing."

In the last three years, Delhi Solac has doubled its market share in Canada and solidified its position in several areas. Delhi Solac has a number of clients in the United States, notably in such industries as fencing, horse stalls, garage doors and others. Its products are used in applications like shelters, greenhouses, furniture, medical equipment, scaffolding, roller conveyors, shopping carts and automotive parts.
